Well, better late than never they say. Finally things have slowed down enough to brag on the old girl. We went to Melody Tillman's Melody J Ranch for the AHBA trials last weekend. They also had ASCA trials but I didn't enter Ellie in any of those - figured that 4 runs a day were enough for her. The cattle were great, sheep good and the ducks, well they were ducks. She has started to slow down maybe just a little - finally. Now for the good stuff - E earned 3 titles, 1 leg of her HTDIIId and 2 points toward her HTCH. Pending AHBA approval, she is now:

Probably the most fun for both of us was setting stock for the ASCA trials. Once she figured out what her job was - what set went where and when, I didn't have to do anything but open gates. She even figured out how far to drive them up the alley before the other dog "took over" that was working the take/exhaust pen. It was just so cool to watch this happy little girl do a job that really made sense .

Billy (Icon), won "Best of Winners" in Clemson, SC for two points on 9 Jan 2011.

We just made it back from a wonderful 3 day trial put on by the Central Kentucky Herding Group Club. The stock and people were great. Ellie was entered all 3 days in Adv A ducks, Int B ducks and Adv A sheep. Now for the good stuff.......

Friday - She had a nice run on A ducks with a 1st place, 2 HC points (her first) and a RHIT.
Sat - 1st place in Int B ducks, 3rd place in Adv A ducks and 5th place in Adv A sheep for that elusive last leg and her title. For those of you that have seen Ellie on sheep, you know what kind of accomplishment this is and understand why it has taken sooo long to get this title. For those that haven't, let's just say that E is NOT a sheep dog.

Sun - 1st place in Int B ducks (3rd leg but 2 from the same judge) and 1st place in Adv A ducks and 2 more HC points.
