STANDARD POODLE Standard Poodles for years have been viewed as strictly fluff & nonsense dogs, but their roots go back to gun dog/retrieving and working dogs. The name Poodle comes from the German Pudel - which translates something like splashing through water. They are actually German, not French. The French adopted the breed and named them Caniche. Caniche translates into Duck Dog - which is close to what they are supposed to be. "Vincent" Am. Brazilian, International, Pan-American, South American Ch. FRENCH BULLDOG The Frenchie was bred principally as a pet and companion. Frenchies are remarkably intelligent and serve as good watchdogs. They are affectionate, sweet tempered, and dependable. Alert and playful, they are not noisy and as a rule bark very little. There size is another advantage in considering them as indoor pets, and the smooth, short coat is easily kept clean. CH. HARPERS WALL STREET BARON PUG A Pug's character is unique in that he is a clown at heart with a terrific sense of humor but at the same time he carries himself with great dignity. They are not too delicate for fun and games. A pug is anxious to please, anxious to learn and anxious to love. His biggest requirement is that you love him back. You haven't lived until you've been owned by a Pug! CH. JAN'S MORNING GLORY OWNER: Jan and Ronnie Plott
GREAT DANE The Great Dane is a German breed. During the 15th and 16th centuries, German forests were filled with game, and hunting wild boar with dogs was a favorite pastime of German nobility. When game in the forests began to dwindle, the Great Dane remained a favorite with German aristocrats. In this country, the Great Dane continues to be a popular family companion for people who admire their regal appearance and affectionate personalities.
