AGILITYDog agility is a competitive sport in which a handler directs their dog over a timed obstacle course. Dogs race against the clock as they jump hurdles, scale ramps, burst through tunnels, traverse a see-saw and weave through a line of poles. With scoring based on faults similar to equestrian show jumping, dog agility has become an exciting spectator event.
Though many breeds appear more naturally adapted to the sport, more than one hundred breeds (including mixed-breeds) have demonstrated their ability to perform well. Any dog with good physical agility and energy is a strong candidate for agility. The best way to evaluate a dog for the sport is to try it. Many of our members participate in agility. Here are some of our members and their dogs. Don't forget to click the thumbnail and then the back button on your browser to return to this page.
